Your story makes me profoundly sad and angry. While I don’t have a child with these same struggles, I am married to a psychologist who has spent a career trying to provide the right supports to families in need. To children and parents in crisis.
We need universal health care. We need to trust mental health experts when they say they want to see a child twice a week for three months. We need to have a system that believes parents who say that their child is in danger, and not a system that relies on what some bureaucrat behind a desk “deems necessary.”
I’m so sorry.
