You Say You Want a Revolution
Time to shake things up a bit
It’s time, people. It’s time for a real revolution.
But this time I think it has to look a little different than what we have heard before. Sure, I am all about the 1% against the 99%. My three kids were arrested together with Occupy Wall Street. In fact, my daughter met her husband there.
And I’m a confirmed lefty, ready to rise up against the corporate oligarchy.
But I think there’s a bigger problem facing this country and its government. And that is the increasing number of crotchety old people who absolutely refuse to give up the reins of power. Between the public brain freezes of Mitch McConnell, the horrifying physical and mental crumbling of Dianne Feinstein, and the awkward shuffling of Joe Biden, there is plenty of evidence that at a certain point, humans are no longer able to carry out the duties required of those who are trying to run this diverse, opinionated, fractured country.
I know many people who are in their 20s and 30s. As a whole, they are able to understand and explain why one needs both YouTube TV and Roku. They can text a friend while changing a diaper while guiding a second grader through his reading homework.
