What a Colossal Waste of Money
The US Presidential election is a giant waste of precious resources
Well, my goodness. I am no math expert, but this whole campaign fundraising thing looks like a giant misuse of funds.
I’ve read that at the end of the year, Biden had $46 million in cash to spend on campaigning. Poor Donald Trump was reported to have a mere $33 million.
Am I wrong to think that both of them have an obscene pile of money on hand?
I have to ask myself: what will they spend all of that money on? Will they do any good with it?
And that’s where I kind of lose my shit.
I think about the fact that these two super-rich white guys will spend millions of donated dollars trying to convince us, the voting public, to vote for them. They will pour hundreds of thousands of dollars into campaign ads on TV and the internet. Ads that will tell us what we already know, and ads that will promise what we don’t believe.
They will pour money into flashy rallies that will do their very best to cast the two old rich guys as a couple of “aw shucks, regular folks” while they wave at the crowds of people they would never rub elbows with in public.
We know these two.
