The Tender Words of Christmas Carols

And how they break my heart this year

What child is this who laid to rest in Mary’s lap is sleeping?

Do you know what I know?

A child, a child shivers in the cold.

Holy infant so tender and mild,

sleep in Heavenly peace!

Truly he taught us to love one another

His law is love and His gospel is peace.

Lully, lullay, Thou little tiny Child,

Bye, bye, lully, lullay.

Lullay, thou little tiny Child,

Bye, bye, lully, lullay.

Herod, the king, in his raging,

Charged he hath this day

His men of might, in his own sight,

All children young to slay.
