I think you're right; I think that those in his sphere of influence only listen to his intonation; snarky, angry, sarcastic. They put their own anger onto it, it seems to me. And too few on the left try to actually pay attention to his words. They just keep saying "He's delusional!" It's been so frustrating for me! I am trying to get the Boston Globe to take a look at this issue.
