I firmly believe that that IDF chose the time and place to carry out this first big rescue. 80 Gazans were murdered for every Israeli rescued. And each of those hostages was put at extra risk during the rescue mission.

I believe that the IDF is capable of true surgical strikes when needed.

This was not surgical. This was yet another obvious attempt to kill as many Palestinians as possible.
