Thank you for this!!! I keep struggling to articulate these same thoughts. I often hear, "Socialism never worked, never will." When I start to reply re: Canada and Germany etc, the phrase is simply repeated.

The only exception I take to your piece is that I lump the Democratic Party in there, too. Terrified even of the term "socialist."
