Oh, STAWP, CNN!
We do not need you to give Trump constant airtime again
It’s not exactly breaking news to say that CNN is a biased media outlet. That’s why a lot of us watch it. It shows us our own views. The ultimate Democratic echo chamber.
But I don’t understand how the people in charge at the network don’t recognize that they are making the very same giant mistake that they made in 2016.
They are giving the former criminal-in-chief nearly endless free coverage. Breaking news in the morning: Trump’s latest social media post. Breaking news at noon: Trump’s non-appearance at the upcoming GOP brawl. And breaking news at night: the latest poll shows that Trump is in the lead in the Republican race.
In between the hosts might break away for a minute or two to cover a natural disaster or a retiring athlete, but they immediately turn back to which of Trump’s co-defendants has been booked.
Don’t they get it?
Any attention is good attention. Any coverage boosts the big buffoon. Last time around, CNN could claim that “nobody ever thought he would win!” This time they have no such excuse.
So this is what I want to say to the brain trust behind CNN’s programming.
