At this troubled time in our shared history, we Americans are in dire need of a heroic figure to lead us through the darkness. We need someone we can relate to, but someone who also embodies everything that we wish we could be.

We need a figure of strength, but not a swaggering aggressive kind of strength. We need someone who inspires loyalty by demonstrating it to others. Someone who possesses grace under fire, but who also is unafraid to strike back when needed.

At this time of division and despair, we need a leader who creates joy. One whose humanity shines through. Someone who inspires strangers to join together in solidarity and hope.

That has gotten me thinking. I wish we had our very own Katniss Everdeen, the beautiful, courageous, inspiring savior of Panem in the Hunger Games.

You know the story, right? The country of Panem is a wreck, where the poor people are dying all over the place as they slave to feed the overblown appetites of the rulers in the Capital. Talk about income inequality, Panem was the champion of the two-tiered society.

Kind of like the US right now, huh? The Stock Market is setting new records, the CEOs are raking in billions and the government is too busy congratulating…
