It Is Past Time to Analyze Trump’s Brain Disorder

There are clear and obvious signs of aphasia in Trump’s oral language

Ever since he descended from the famous golden staircase in Trump Tower and began to speak, I have been alarmed by the language that I have heard from Donald J. Trump. Like many people, I have been consistently alarmed by the self-centered focus of the former President. There is certainly enough anger and bitterness in his words to raise concerns about Trump’s emotional health.

But I am neither a psychologist nor a psychiatrist, and cannot offer any kind of professional opinion on these issues.

I am, however, a retired speech/language pathologist with over 20 years of practice. I have written about my concerns before, as you can read here and here.

As time has gone on and the threat of a Trump re-election looms, I am trying once again to point out that the man shows every evidence of a serious expressive language disorder. I have transcribed and analyzed a section of the speech that Trump gave at a rally in Iowa on January 6, 2024. I only transcribed a small portion, because in only a brief sampling, I found multiple examples of what I judged to be disordered language.
