I have never understood the concept of "patriotism" when it seems to mean 'my people matter more than yours'. I hate when the media reports on a major catastrophe and includes how many of the dead were Americans. Is it less horrific if they are Ugandan? Columbian? Palestinian?

Right now I feel so helpless in the face of this genocide. All I can do is write. And VOTE carefully.
