Hey! I Have a Good Idea
OK, guys. You know how everybody thinks that our two Presidential candidates and maybe half of Congress are just too damn old to do the job?
You know how we are all wringing our hands and asking each other, ‘What can we do?’ Alas, too many very old people are wandering around Washington mumbling and stumbling and asking us for our money and our votes.
Something must be done! At once!
Well, I have a solution. And I am not at all kidding.
We need to ask every candidate for every position in government to do one simple task. This test will let us know immediately if they are hip enough to understand the concept of cyberattacks. It will show us right away if they are too old to handle the intricacies of the modern world. If we are going to let these people make the laws that govern our lives, we need to know that they are up to the task.
Here’s how it will go. We will place our candidate in an average American home. We will bring in a brand new TV, hand it and its brand new clicker to said candidate, and say the magic words: “OK, now set it up.”
Can you just picture it? Nancy Pelosi with a clicker in her hand, looking at 55” flat screen “smart” TV. Will she figure out which HDMI port she should use to connect the cable box? Will she know how to use her phone’s camera to scan the…
