Dear Momma Nature
ENOUGH
Dear Momma Nature,
You’re the best! Really! You are the QUEEN. I bow to you.
But….
What the heck with this winter stuff?
I know that every winter, its supposed to be cold and windy and snowy and icy and grim. I live in Massachusetts, I get it. I have lived here for 68 years. I get it, I get it.
But.
Why are you suddenly making me look and feel so……I don’t know……old?
When I was in my 20’s, the clear cold days of winter made my cheeks adorably pink. Hot chocolate made me feel warm and cosy and loving. My hair got fluffy and curly in the crisp dry air.
Me in a scarf and knit hat? Super cute.
But now?
Not so much! Momma, now winter is my worst ugly maker. Even worse than sleeping with a CPAP. Well, ok, on par with the CPAP.
This morning when I came out of the shower, I noticed a few things. My lips are chapped. They are peeling.
My cuticles are so dry that they’re peeling. The skin on my hands is so dry that when I put on lotion I can hear it slurping. Don’t even ask me about the flaky skin my calves! Yeesh.
